Eastern Mediterranean University successfully completed the QS Stars evaluation carried out in every four years by England-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the prominent university ranking and evaluation institutions in the field of higher education. EMU, which achieved successful results and showed consistent improvement in QS Stars evaluations in 2013, 2017, and 2021, maintained its upward trajectory in 2025 by earning five out of five stars in three categories. The evaluation highlighted Hospitality and Leisure Management, Global Engagement, Facilities, and Scientific Research as the university’s top-performing areas.
In area rankings category, EMU was ranked as the 54th in the world in the Hospitality and Leisure Management category, receiving five full stars which is defined as “Excellent”. EMU’s contributions to science, the expertise it has shown, its achievements in world ranking and the prestigious international accreditations it holds played a significant role in this success.
EMU was also awarded a full five-star “Excellent” rating in the Global Engagement category, recognizing its international partnerships, collaborative programs with renowned global universities, memberships in international academic associations, global reputation, and commitment to fostering international diversity on campus.
Furthermore, EMU also earned a perfect five-star “Excellent” rating in the Facilities category, which evaluated its campus infrastructure and the amenities offered to students. The rating reflects the university’s extensive services, including its library, bookstores, cafeterias, restaurants, dormitories, healthcare services, student clubs and societies, as well as the advanced technology used in classrooms and other facilities.
According to the overall evaluation report from QS, EMU is recognized as a prestigious institution with international standing, offering excellent education, outstanding campus amenities, and the ability to meet almost every need of its students, while adhering to the standards set by QS.
