Course Description
The aim of this course is to teach students theoretically  Resistors, capacitors; coils, basic semiconductor elements; diode, transistor and other types of circuit elements; the use of basic measuring and measuring instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, etc.); conductor, insulator, semiconductor; direct current, alternating current, series, parallel, mixed circuits and related laws (current, resistance, Ohm's Law, Kirchhoff Voltage Law, power); number systems, logical gate circuits; Boolean mathematics (Boolean law, Morgan theorem, Karnough map); digital circuit design; counters

General Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course students should be able to:

  • Understand the basic principles of resistor, capacitors and inductance
  • Understand the basic semiconductor elements
  • Understand and use basic measuring instruments
  • Understand the DC and AC current circuits
  • Practice arithmetic computations in binary numbering system.
  • Explain the basic operations and theorems of Boolean algebra.
  •  Apply rules of Boolean algebra to simplify Boolean expressions.
  •  Explain how to translate Boolean expressions into equivalent truth tables and logic gate implementations.
  • Design efficient combinational and sequential logic circuit implementations from functional description of digital
  • Systems.

Teaching Methodology / Classroom Procedures
