Other Contributions

I have co-supervised two master's students who completed their studies with a review thesis, without original research for publication:

  • DUYGU MALYALI, master's student 2017 – 2020 at EMU; originally from North Cyprus. Co-supervised with Mehmet Ali Ozarslan. Her thesis title was "(p,q)-Hahn Difference Operator", and she completed her defence on 30 January 2020. Afterwards, she continued to do a PhD at EMU.

  • BUBACARR KANDEH, master's student 2017 – 2020 at EMU; originally from the Gambia. Co-supervised with Agamirza Bashirov. His thesis title was "Stochastic Calculus with Applications to Finance", and he completed his defence on 6 July 2020.

I have also served on various committees relating to other master's and PhD students as follows:

  • JEAN-DANIEL DJIDA, PhD student 2017 – 2019 at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain; originally from Cameroon. Supervised by Ivan Area and Juan Nieto. I served on his PhD defence committee together with Rosana Rodríguez-López and Cristiana Silva. His thesis title was "Some Nonlocal Operators in Porous Medium Equations: the Extension Problem and Regularity Theory", and he completed his defence on 18 June 2019. Afterwards, he continued to postdoc positions in Germany.

  • ARZU AHMADOVA, PhD student 2018 – 2022 at EMU; originally from Azerbaijan. Supervised by Nazim Mahmudov. I served on her PhD defence committee together with Juan Nieto, Ilham Aliyev, and Agamirza Bashirov. Her thesis title was "Methods for the Study of Stochastic Differential Equations and Applications: Stochastic Optimal Control Theory", and she completed her defence on 3 February 2022. Afterwards, she continued to postdoc positions in Germany.

  • MAHIR MOHAMMAD ATA ALMATARNEH, PhD student 2019 present at EMU; originally from Jordan. Supervised by Sonuc Zorlu Ogurlu. I am currently on his thesis monitoring committee.
