EMU Completes ISO 9001:2015, ISO 10002:2018 and ISO 45001:2018 Audits

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), completed ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ISO 10002:2018 Student Satisfaction Management System and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System inspections conducted by the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE), a member of the world’s widest certification network IQ Net.

 

The audits were carried out between 13 and 17 January 2025 under the guidance of EMU Total Quality Management Center which took the responsibility for establishing, implementing, renewing, ensuring compliance with management systems, reporting to senior management, and coordinating audits. The audits conclude with a closing meeting held on Friday, 17 January, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Senate Hall of the EMU Rector’s Office building.

 

The closing meeting was attended by EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe, EMU Academic Affairs Coordinator Assist. Prof. Dr. Burak Ali Çiçek and TSE Auditors Rıza Buğra Alp Giray Okumuş, Tolga Öztekin, Miraç Öztok, Melek Selcen Öksüz Çelevi and EMU Quality Unit Representatives.

 

“The Quality Process – Ongoing Effort Requiring Enhancement”

In his address during the closing meeting, EMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe underscored that observations made during the audit process had been documented and that areas needing improvement would be addressed without delay, emphasizing that the quality process is an ongoing effort requiring continuous enhancement

 

TSE Auditors Presented Their Views

Underlining the importance of evaluating the data collected during the audit process with an appropriate and healthy system, TSE auditors added that the data collected should also be shared with the employees. Noting that accredited programs play a significant role in contributing to the other units, TSE auditors stated that ensuring occupational health and safety is among their fundamental priorities, beyond production and service processes.

 

Following the remarks, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe conveyed his thanks to those contributing to the audit process, and all the Quality Unit Representatives for their devoted work. Noting that the audit week was successfully completed, Prof. Dr. Karatepe expressed that the audit report would be shared with EMU in the near future.
