Bu derste öğrenciye, bilgisayar donanımında kullanılan birimleri, kartların ve cihazların yapılarını, çalışmalarını ve kullanımlarını kavrayabilme; bilgisayar sistemlerinin oluşturulması, montajı, bakım-onarımı için gerekli temel bilgileri ve becerileri  edinebilme; bilgisayarın çalışma prensibini öğrenmek ve bu sistem üzerindeki arızaları tespit edip sorunları çözebilme yeteneğini kazandırmak amaçlanmaktadır.

English:

This course mainly includes description of computer hardware units, expansion cards and their working principles. Constructing a computer system, maintenance and repair is also included in the scope of the course. Understanding the working principles of a computer system, identifying the errors and fixing them can be considered as the main objectives of this course.

• Değişik işletim sistemleri hakkında bilgi sahibi olma,
• Bilgisayarda arıza tespiti ve onarımı yapabilme,
• İşletim sistemi kurabilme,

yeterliliklerini kazanacaklardır.

English:

On successful completion of this course students should be able to:

• Describe main computer hardware units,
  
• Construct a computer case,
  
• Learn about different operating systems,
• Identify hardware errors and fix them,
• Install an operating system.

Türkçe:

• Ders haftada iki saat teorik anlatım ve üç saat uygulama şeklinde yapılacaktır.
• Ders süresince yapılacak olan ara sınav ve dönem sonu sınavı ile öğrencilerin konuları daha iyi anlaması amaçlanmaktadır.
• Dersi alan öğrenciler verilen görevleri yerine getirmekle sorumludur.
• Dersle ilgili tüm bilgiler (ders materyalleri, duyurular gibi) dersin sitesinde bulunacaktır.

English:

• The course has two hours of lectures and three hours of laboratories in a week.
  
• Midterm exam and final exam will be held to let the students study and learn the course contents.
• Students are supposed to submit the assigned tasks on time.
• Course related materials will be posted on the course web site.

Türkçe:

• Her öğrencinin bir telafi sınavı alma hakkı vardır. Öğrencinin bir sınava katılamadığı durumda sınav tarihinden itibaren en geç üç iş günü içerisinde sağlık raporu sunmakla yükümlüdür. Telafi sınavı, tüm konuları içerecek şekilde dönem sonu, sınav haftasından sonra yapılacaktır.
• Sınav sonuçları açıklandıktan sonra bir hafta içersinde aldığı nota itiraz etme hakkı vardır. Bu süre sonunda herhangi bir itiraz dikkate alınmayacaktır.

• Tüm öğrenciler, dersin sitesini ve bu sitede yapılacak olan duyuruları takip etmekle yükümlüdür. Site takip edilmediği takdirde yaşanacak kayıplar öğrencilerin sorumluluğundadır.
• Derslere düzenli katılamayan öğrencilere NG harf notu verilecektir.

English:

• Each student can have only one make-up exam. One who misses an exam should provide a medical report within 3 days after the missed exam. The make-up exam will be organized at the end of the term after the finals and will cover all the topics. No make-up exam will be given for the quizzes.
• Once the grades are announced, the students have only one week to do objection about their grades.
• It is the students' responsibility to follow the announcement in the course web site.
• Students who do not pass the course and fail to attend the lectures regularly may be given NG grade.

Harf notları dönem sonunda hesaplanan ortalamalara göre belirlenir.  Ortalamalarının dağılımı Harf Notlarının değerlendirilmesinde önemli bir rol oynayacaktır.

English:

Letter grades will be decided upon after calculating the averages at the end of the semester. Distribution of the averages will play a significant role in the evaluation of the Letter Grades.
