First-Aid Fest in EMU

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Health Sciences Faculty is organizing a brand-new event. “1st TRNC Ambulance Rally and Uni-Rally” in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and “Emergency Health Services and First-Aid Symposium” will be organized with the contributions of Turkey Emergency Medicine Association, Emergency Department Nurses Association, Paramedics Associations and, Cyprus Turkish Medical Association and Cyprus Turkish Paramedics Association between 8-11 April, 2018 in EMU.

The joint statement made by EMU Health Sciences Faculty Dean and the head of the Organization Committee Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç and Dokuz Eylül University Department of Emergency Medicine academic staff member, at the same time EMU School of Health Services, First and Emergency Aid Associate Program academic staff member and Vice Head of Organization Committee Assist. Prof. Dr. Rıdvan Atilla included the following: “Our objective is to bring together the emergency health service personnel so that an environment where everyone can share current problems and exchange ideas. We will be very delighted to have you here with us”.

Symposium will be 3-days long

The 3 day-long Emergency Health Services Symposium to start on Monday, the 9th of April, 2018 at 09:00 in Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall will be home to a series of joint panels title “Approaches and Principles in an Event of First and Emergency Aid”. The symposium program is designed to provide integrity within doctors, nurses and paramedics teams. Professionals in the field of emergency health services will share their experiences with the participants of the symposium. A “First Aid Symposium” open to public will be organized on the last day of the events, 11th of April, 2018. The participation to the event where the importance of first-aid and basic principles of the sector will be free.

Ambulance Rally

What is Ambulance Rally?

The first thing that comes into minds when the word “rally” is pronounced is the image of cars racing off-road, but the aim of ambulance rally is not racing. During the competition, the teams will visit (on foot) the stations located in different parts of the campus where they will tried to solve the incidences with their knowledge and skills. The objective of the EMU Health Sciences Faculty 1st TRNC Ambulance Rally and Uni-rally is to complete the assigned mission without mistakes rather than acting fast and racing.
