EMU Industrial Engineering Club’s National and International Events Throughout 2025-2026 Fall Semester

Industrial Engineering Club operating under Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Student Development, Events and Sports Affairs Directorate significantly contributed to professional and individual development of its students through the academic, industry-specific, technical and international events it organized throughout 2025-2026 Academic Year Fall Semester. With its seminars featuring experts in the field, technical trips offering direct experience with the sector, participations in prestigious summits and international organizations, the said club successfully represented EMU on both national and international platforms.

The first event of the semester was a seminar titled “Endüstri360: Mühendisliğin Stratejiyle Buluştuğu Nokta / Industry360: Where Engineering Meets Strategy” held online on 19 October 2025. Delivered by Bosch Production Manager Alper Eröz, the seminar addressed the role of industrial engineering in strategic decision-making processes, with a focus on production management and leadership perspectives.

 

With the goal of students gaining interdisciplinary perspectives, the club also participated in İTÜ Marketing and Finance Summit held on 26-27 November 2025 in İstanbul. Students had the chance to meet with leading figures from the sector during the event which focused on current approaches and career opportunities in the fields of marketing and finance.

Technic and Industry-Specific Events Were Held

In December 2025, technical and industry-focused activities came to the forefront. On 18 December 2025, club members organized a technical visit to Metgin Ltd., where students had the opportunity to observe production processes on site. Additionally, on 19 December 2025, the Industrial Engineering Club hosted Siemens Product Manager Berkcan Berk on campus. During the seminar titled “Technology and Product Management”, Berkcan Berk shared his experiences.

 

Organizing a technical trip to North Cyprus Turkcell on 23 December 2025, the club provided the students to closely observe the telecommunication sector. The final event held during the Fall Semester was “Produce with Engineering” seminar, featuring Nemide Ruso – Managing Shareholder of Icy Su. Taking place on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, the event focused on production, entrepreneurship and sustainable business models from an engineering perspective.

EMU Industrial Engineering Club at ESTIEM

Extending its activities beyond the local and national level, the EMU Industrial Engineering Club also became actively involved within ESTIEM, the world’s largest industrial engineering student organization. As a member of ESTIEM, which brings together 80 Industrial Engineering student clubs from 31 European countries, EMU ESTIEM Local Group (LG Famagusta) effectively represented the university. In this context, club members attended the LXXI ESTIEM Council Meeting held in Niš, Serbia, between 6 and 12 November 2025. During the event, two students participated as delegates on behalf of ESTIEM LG Famagusta, contributing to Europe-wide decision-making processes and fostering international cooperation among student organizations.

The international endeavors of the club continued with ESTIEM Local Group Exchange program held between 25 and 30 November 2025 in Krakow, Poland. With the participation of 12 EMU students, the program enabled students to broaden their global perspectives through academic, cultural, and social exchanges with industrial engineering students from various countries.

To Host the Industry Summit

All of the seminars, technical visits, summits, and international activities organized during the 2025–2026 Fall Semester were carried out in line with the EMU Industrial Engineering Club’s long-term vision. In this context, the club is preparing to host the Industry Summit on 4 April 2026, to be held for the first time in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The summit is set to bring together students, academics, and industry professionals, with the participation of senior executives from leading global companies in the industrial sector.
