EMU Students Explore The World

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) continues to send students abroad within the scope of student exchange programs. While student exchange programs have been available at EMU for over 10 years, the exchange program currently collaborates with 24 universities across 18 countries. EMU students can enhance their educational experience by studying at these universities for one or two semesters.

As a result of collaborations with some of the world’s leading universities, every EMU student is provided the opportunity to receive education in countries such as America, Germany, Iran, Denmark, Canada, Italy, Austria, South Korea and China where the credits they obtain will be valid at EMU. The university’s experienced International Office team provides personal counselling for students who choose to partake on the extremely useful Student Exchange Program journey. Proving more opportunities for more students, EMU continues to expand the universities and countries which students can travel to within the scope of the student exchange program. EMU Students are Preparing to Travel to Different Regions:

The International Office has determined 10 students that will be coming to EMU within the scope of the Student Exchange Program for the Fall Semester of the 2018-2019 Academic Year. During the same period 15 EMU students will be travelling to universities who are in collaboration with EMU. One student from the Tourism and Hospitality Management program will be travelling to South Korea along with one student from the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts program and another from the Industrial Engineering Department. One student from the Management Engineering Department and two students from the Computer Engineering Department will be receiving education in New York. A student from the Banking and Finance Department will be studying at another American state; Illinois. 2 students will be travelling to Calgary, Canada (one from the Guidance and Psychological Counselling Department and another from the Department of Business Administration). A further three students will be going to Germany (from the Departments of Business, Tourism and Hospitality Management and Political Science). Finally, students from the Department of Management Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering will be continuing their education in İzmir.

Bulut: “It was an Amazingly Useful Period”

Mert Ercan Bulut from the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management who studied as an exchange student in South Korea described his experience as affecting his career in a positive manner. Indicating that it is important for a Tourism and Hospitality student to understand cultural differences in order to be successful Bulut stated: “South Korea is a region which is very different to our country in terms of daily life, culture and philosophy. It was important for me to go there and see this for myself. . I can say that this semester was extremely beneficial as I obtained important information that will help my future career whilst studying the philosophies and culture of the Far East.
