EMU Graduate Gizem Taştemel Dinçkan Talked About Her Career in EMU

7th Career Days organised by the Eastern Mediterranean University Rector’s Office, Academic Units and Alumni Communication and Career Research Directorate (MİKA) continue with various activities in EMU. In this regard, EMU graduate Gizem Taştemel Dinçkan,  who came to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus upon the invitation of Business and Economics Faculty and Communication Faculty, delivered a talk for EMU students at Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tahiroğlu Hall. Alongside with Faculty members, Dean of  Business and Economics Faculty Prof. Dr. Selcan Timur and Chair of Business Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şule Aker also attended the said event. Having graduated from EMU English-medium Business Department in 2013, Dinçkan, delivered a presentation titled “21st Century’s Economic Crime: Employee Abuses”. During her presentation, Dinçkan also provided information to the participants regarding her current ‘Senior Consultant’ position at Cerebra CPAs&Advisors firm.  Sharing information on her career experiences after her graduation, Dinçkan highlighted the importance of internship practice at the career path.

Information on Abuse Analysis

Stating that she started to work in Cerebra in 2014 as an assistant, Dinçkan added that she was promoted to the position of ‘Senior Consultant’ in 2017. Dinçkan also stated that within her 5 years of experience, she participated in projects focusing on internal control, internal audit, forensic accounting, fraud inspection and independent audit. Dinçkan pointed out that the world's leading international corporatations are among their main customers. Dinçkan also provided information to EMU students about corruption, conflict of interest, abuse of assets, and the investigation of fraudulent financial statements.
