Dr. Ahmet Rizaner
Ahmet Rizaner is a professor in the Department of Information Technologies at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in North Cyprus. He has been working at EMU since 2004, serving as the coordinator of the department between 2008 and 2013. He also held the position of vice director of the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research from December 2015 until July 2025. Throughout his tenure, he has actively served as a member of the Research Advisory Board and the Student Disciplinary Board. As of July 15, 2025, he has been appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information Sciences.
His research interests include wireless communication, broadly covering channel estimation, robust multiuser detection, digital video broadcasting (DVB), and advanced mmWave technologies. Additionally, he focuses on the practical application of AI and machine learning techniques, such as fuzzy logic, neural networks, Support Vector Machines (SVMs), and sophisticated decision trees. These methodologies are primarily applied for developing effective intrusion detection systems in diverse network environments, notably vehicular ad-hoc networks, and for thoroughly addressing the impact of impulsive noise on overall system performance
